Opening the Curtain on How We Build: A Brief Message from our CEO

Over the past year, Vicarious has moved through one of the most demanding stages of any
hardware company’s life, turning bold engineering ideas into a surgical platform that can
perform with precision, safety, and reliability. This phase is rarely visible from the outside.
Starting this month, we are changing that.
Our goal is simple: to make the development of our platform more transparent. Innovation in
robotics, particularly in healthcare, is not linear. It involves steady progress, course corrections,
and hundreds of technical decisions that shape the outcome. By sharing both our advances and
our challenges, we hope to give investors, partners, and clinicians a clearer view of how true
surgical innovation is built.
You can expect regular updates as we move toward design freeze; short posts, videos, and
educational features that explain what we’re learning and why certain steps matter. We’ll discuss
topics such as why builds must be conducted under controlled conditions, how our Quality
Management System ensures repeatability and compliance, and what each development
milestone really means. Some of these updates will take the form of interviews or
behind-the-scenes footage; others may rise to the level of formal press releases when they mark
key program milestones.
Transparency also extends to strategy. We’ve been assessing how best to focus our internal
resources, not to cut for the sake of cutting, but to concentrate on what makes us unique. The
miniaturized robotic arms and immersive visualization system are the heart of our value and will
remain firmly in-house. Capital equipment and certain non-core software functions, by contrast,
can be more efficiently built through experienced external partners. This focused outsourcing
will help control burn rate while preserving the integrity of our “secret-sauce” technologies and
accelerating progress toward commercialization.
The vision behind Vicarious has never been clearer: to expand the reach of minimally invasive
surgery through robotics that enable access, dexterity, and precision beyond what’s possible
today. Reaching that vision demands focus, patience, and honest dialogue about the process.
